How long is a physical therapy session?

An initial evaluation is typically 1 hour; your physical therapist will take the time to fully investigate your circumstance to determine the best plan of action. Follow-up visits will depend on the treatment plan you are assigned, though they are usually between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

How many times a week will I come in for therapy?

This will depend on the PT's initial evaluation. There are 2x/week (Tu/Thu) and 3x/week options (M/W/F); if the PT determines you need more intervention for your treatment, you will typically be assigned to visits 3x a week. We are also more than happy to work with your schedule; your frequency does not need to match the Tu/Thu or M/W/F formats.

What do I wear to physical therapy?

Loose workout clothes are preferred, with sneakers. Clothing that accommodates strengthening exercises and allows the therapist to stretch your extremities.

What insurances do we accept?

All our offices accept most insurances. We are not in-network with Cigna Health Springs. Feel free to call our offices to see if we are in-network with your insurance.

What is Direct Access?

Direct Access, under state law, allows patients to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist without needing a physician's referral for 30 days; your insurance will cover this treatment during this time period. It's as easy as calling and setting up an appointment with one of our offices. At the end of the 30-day grace period, a physician's referral is required to continue treatment beyond this month.

What can I expect during my initial evaluation?

At your initial evaluation, you will be required to bring identification, insurance card, and physician referral. Arrive 15 minutes before your set appointment time to fill out the necessary paperwork. Your therapist will introduce him/herself and will seek to understand the full extent of your situation through communication and physical assessments. At the end of your evaluation, your therapist will design a plan of care that will identify necessary treatment modalities and strengthening/stretching exercises and will recommend a follow-up treatment frequency (i.e., 2x/week, 3x/week). This evaluation can be expected to last up to 1 hour. If time permits, the therapist may start your treatment that day.

How much is self-pay?

Self-pay is case-dependent. Typically, you can expect an evaluation to be $80, with follow-up visits at: $45/45 minutes, or $60/1 hour. For severe cases that require more rigorous treatment and more time, you may be charged more. Feel free to call our offices and speak to a therapist for an estimation specific to your case.

How can I make an appointment?

There are four methods to schedule your initial evaluation with us: 1. A physician's referral has been faxed to us. If your physician refers you to us for physical therapy, your physician's office will fax over your referral to us. You may call us to directly set up your evaluation. If we have not received a call from you, we will call you to inquire about setting up your evaluation. 2. The "Contact Us" feature on our website. If you fill out the "Contact Us" form on our website, we will be notified of your concerns and contact information. We will then call you to set up your initial evaluation. 3. You call us to set up an appointment. You may either call us after you have been referred to us by your physician, or through direct access (aka, you have not received a physician's referral, but would like to be evaluated and begin physical therapy). 4. You may physically visit our office location to schedule your appointment. Make sure to bring your physician's referral. Due to COVID-19, we encourage limiting on-site scheduling and calling to schedule instead. When making an appointment with us, be prepared to provide your physician's name, the condition you have been presented with, and your insurance information.

Hi, yes we absolutely accept Medicare and would love to help you. Where are you located?

Hi Therapy team! I wanted to see if you will see people without a referral and if so how much would the initial evaluation cost. Generally speaking, I am hoping to have my knee looked at as it clicks when I am lifting weights. Thanks!
